In a similar fashion to false fingernails, veneers are thin shells of porcelain which are bonded to your teeth to give the appearance of a beautiful smile. Veneers can correct gappy teeth, crooked teeth, discolored/stained teeth, short and worn teeth. Veneers have the potential to last many many years if done correctly, and the results can quite literally be life changing. The treatment process takes two appointments: First appointmentImpressions of your teeth will be taken to ensure the veneers are made to fit your teeth properly and suit your individual smile perfectly. Your teeth will be prepared for the veneers, which may involve shaving a small amount of enamel away from your teeth to ensure the final veneers are not too bulky or out of place. We use high precision magnification and the highest quality porcelain available which allows us to keep the amount of enamel removal to a minimum, and sometimes it is not needed at all. Whilst we are waiting for your custom veneers to be made in the laboratory, we will fit you with temporary veneers to keep you smiling. Final appointmentYour temporary veneers will be gently removed, and your new permanent veneers bonded to your teeth. Any adjustments needed are made then and there, and we will run through how you can best take care of your new smile. |
